As they are captive bred its good that you know the origins, save a 'mix' later.

Very pretty snakes. What do baby puff adders go for in Europe? The last ones I saw were captive bred ones from Burundi and they only went for about 10 Euros.

Thank you everyone, glad you like them :D

BV, The puff prices are so variable
There were some babies from Ghana there that were price at 40 euros, my lake nakuru puffs cost me 50 euros each, but I think they were so cheap as it was a large litter. The Tanzanians were priced at 100 euros each and I knocked him down to 160 for the pair.

Nice, that rhino is stunning.

I heard about the Houten show on Sunday. I am sure there were some nice species for sale. Did you see any Bitis parviocula or Zhaoermia mangshanensis?

Anything else that stood out?

Hi and thanks :)

No parviocula, but there was Zhaoermia mangshanensis at a very high price. Nothing else stood as exceptional to me, but really I was there for what i'd ordered and wanted to make a quick exit (I can't handle crowds well) .

Cheers,
Al

Really love those puffies Alan. They are stunning. I wish we could get those here. Seems crazy that they come from our continent and we don't get them but you can buy them on other continents :-? Are they all babies still? It looks like the rhinos are juveniles (their eyes are so clear and innocent) but it is not to clear from the pics how big the puffies are.
Do you collect rhinos? What is the project you are doing with them? I know you wanted pics of some a while back and didn't get a good response.

Hi Boadicia,

Yeah, I find it strange that we can buy them too, mind you this is the first time i've seen CB for sale. They're still tiny little babies at the moment , but both fed within 24 hrs of getting them home.

As to the rhinos , yes, I now have 4.6 and have been studying them on and off since the early 90's . I'm just trying to learn all I possibly can about them, mostly behaviour and husbandry. The way in which I keep them differs , four are kept in a completely new way, ( I think, i've not heard of anyone else keeping them the same way) . So far the results are really interesting as I reguarly see completely new different behaviour from these four individuals.

Thanks,
Al
