Hi

Welcome to the forum.

That is Pachydactlus maculatus, the Spotted Thick-toed Gecko.

Very nice find!

Tamed is a loose term , they can become tolerable of handling eventually but they don't make good "pets" as such.

It's better to.

If you are looking for a pet gecko look at something like Leopard geckos or African fat tailed geckos
They grow much larger and can be held and picked up without worry.

Kirsonic, it would actually be illegal for you to keep this gecko as a pet according to Eastern Cape Nature Conservation laws.

The right thing to do would be to release it where you found it.

Try an exotic gecko if you are really keen to keep geckos. Fooble has got some nice ones available. I'm sure he can get them to you.

Agreed, a thick toe won't make a good pet at all. They're fairly common in your area but usually found underneath stuff during the day, that is adult size. Def. rather go for an exotic.
