Chondrodactylus angulifer angulifer help?

Hi all

I got a male from a young dude that didn't want him anymore so i took the gecko more of rescuing (don't know his age he is about +- 15 cm) he was very red in color and looked a bit unhappy,
Friday i got him a female a bit smaller then him they look if they are ok with each other but tonight i c the male is a bit pale not so bright any more,so what i wanna ask
is he a bit stressed with the new female or do they also go pale if they shed?(how often do they shed)
And his appetite doesn't seem to be up to par, has only eaten a few scrubs

Hope he gets better in his new terrarium with his new partner.Any help will be grate.

Thx
