Feeding hatchling egg eaters

Feeding hatchling egg eaters

My southern brown egg eater laid eggs a month and a half ago. I've been told I will need to get finch eggs to feed them when they hatch. Where in Durban could I get finch eggs?

Zebra finch eggs are the right size-many people have them in aviaries. The female egg eaters often feed well but the males are difficult :smt022

What could work is buy breeding finches and donate them to someone who has a big enough aviary. By 5 pairs and then 5 nest boxes too. Once a week you can go raid 4 of the five nest boxes. They then get to keep whatever is raised in the last nest box in exchange for food etc. Try finding someone who already has a suitable aviary.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
