How to make a incubator?

How to make a incubator?

Postby scotty121 » Tue Oct 30, 2012 7:50 pm

Hey people,
Just a quick question:
I got a trio of pueblan milk snakes and I'm gonna need a incubator soon, so I was wondering what the best but cheapest method to use is. I was thinking of a polerstyrine box, heat pad on the lid and vermiculite in the box, would that do?
Thank you all. :)

Get a polystyrene box, a waterheater, mesh (to keep the egg tubs out of the water), a and a thermometer. Set it up as soon as you can so you can check your temps. Mine has to be set on 26 degrees to get the temps up to 29-30.

I haven't tried the head pad method, but using the waterheater method has worked out to less than R200.

I agree with the water heater plan. I use this with my reptiles and it works perfect for me except I don't use a polystyrene box I use one of the large plastic storage containers, but at the end it works the same and I am happy with the results I get from it. I also set the heater at 26degrees to have the temps right.
