New Incubator

I know some people use computer fans and it works. I just dont know how.

I just use a big plastic boxes (tote bin) as mentioned above. Inside I fill half with water and use an aquarium heater and a small R100 water pump which circulates the water and keeps the temperature stable across the range.

I have made an incubator from chip board that I had left. I painted it with a normal pva paint just to change colour. I have sealed the seams and corners with silicone mostly for heat but that was not necessary. I used a cpu fan, only 2 wires and a normal 100 watt globe.

I did not worry about the humidity inside the incubator, since all the eggs are inside plastic containers with their own humidity requirements.

This incubator is still working 100% after 2 breeding seasons.

The only problem is that with the window in the door the temps can drop quite fast when there is a power failure.
