Thanks man! I just love these guys. I am amazed how much they have grown and now they are really taking off. The Malaysian's all have some nice striping so hopefully I will get some nice babies when I get there.

No Problem! They will be three years later this year but they still need some weight an lenght before I will try breeding. They have always eaten well but now days they are becoming monsters. I have to let them know it's me now as they come out their hids when ever I disturb them. LOL The one is even like this when he has had a large rat the day before. Pigs! It's just amazing how fast they grow once they are taking adult rats.

ye i know exactly what you mean ,mine was slow at growing at first ,but now with adult rats being taken the girth is really starting to show on him but luckily his temperament is still lovely and calm ,but funny I'm always anticipating that bite one day... ha ha ,

best results seen from them is by feeding them every 10 days ...their metabolism is very slow ,but notice that they urinate allot but don't cr@p allot ..

Hey tell me about it. Bloods don't deficate all that often and people start to panic about it. I know when one of my bloods has done the deed bacause they have lost almost half their weight. Looks like a Great Dane climbed into the cage it's so big. I often find once they are a bit backed up a good soak and some exercise in the yard will produce the goods. The longest on of my bloods went without deficataing was 13 feeds but I can tell you I was sh@tting for the both of us. It was a bit younger and the meals were smaller.

I think they just draw all the nutrients out of thies meals compared to most snakes. Even 13 meals wasn't as big as I would have expected.

I have found even my most nasty bloods is chilling out lately which is nice.

Good to hear your nasty Blood is starting to chill out ,that's real good news ..

i also know that there might be a Great Dane visiting my Bloods Viv soon ,,ha ha
its gonna be huge I'm sure because its been about 9 feeds now ...

But what i do find is by putting them in the bath normally helps ,i also do that with my Afrocks ,,that normally guarantees them to take a sh#t ..the only thing is my Blood is so dam lazy that even when i put him on the floor he don't want to move ...lazy git .ha ha

@Bjorn- Beautiful Snakes mate, especially them Malaysians.

I just put down money on a young female malaysian, she was in the blue when I saw her and held her, She did present us with a few gapes but otherwise was really chilled out. Her sister, not as pretty as her though, has a bit more of a tendancy to lunge, not actually grabbing but like a head but. She wasnt in the blue like her sister though. Will post pics as soon as the lil girl is home.

Thanks!

They are eating piglets when I can get my hands on them and still growing nicely. Sadly I lost my male black blood. I have had such bad luck this year I can't believe it.

All the best with your little beasts!

I always thought Sumatran bloods were the more red ones. Help.

The Sumatran bloods or black bloods come from the South west costal plains of Sumatra. They are dark over all. Confusinly Malaysian/red bloods also occur in Sumatra. They can be variable in colours from yellows to reds. Mine are the yellow form.

Info from Keeping and Breeding snakes by Chris Mattison.

Looking at the pics again reminds me of what makes them that extra bit pretty. The two tone eyes, my lil girl has her eyes spit almost 50/50 gold and black, does that change or is she gonna keep them pretty eyes as they are? Will post pics in jus over a week

Somesnakes have a facial pattern that will continue through the eye. I have boas with this. They don't loose it.
