Ek het ook so ou boekie van die giftige slange van Suid-Afrika. Dit het onderandere ook die Horingsman (Bitis caudalis) en the mol-adder (Atractaspis bibronnii) in, maar het nie skadelose slange in nie. Dit lyk my die boekie is deur mnr.John Visser geskryf, en voor in is daar 'n boodskap wat se dat die boekie is "uitgereik in balang van die nasie se gesondheid deur die vervaardigers van Dettol in samewerking met die Suid-Afrikaanse vereniging van kleinhandel-aptekers" :)

Ek dink nie dit is dieselfde boek waarin ek dink nie. Die boek wat ek gesien het, het die ou latynse name vir Python natalensis en BHS so dit het skadelose slange in.

Bushsnake what is crazy is that "Dettol" book had a horned adder in the outside or inside cover somewhere where you could see the fangs and the tissue over them. I later found out the snake was "deceased" and then photographed.

Interesting word for a crocodile Tony. I heard an interesting thing about the meaning of Zimbabwe's name. Apparently it means house/place of stone. Just shows how ignorantly we can live our lives.

They used to call the Black Mamba if I remember correctly in Zulu 'Inyama Mamba' and the Boer would call it "die swart dood".
