Not that common Eggeater

Today I got called out to the house of a judge of the supreme court. Needless to say the snake they saw on TUESDAY was no longer there. The gardeners had chopped down some branches and had left a nest with 3 eggs lying on the ground. I annexed the nest and brought it home.

This guy thought that was a good idea.

Some hornithologist (person who get very excited by birds) would be able to tell me what birds eggs these were. I felt sorry for the parents because it was a beautifully made nest and pretty eggs with purple spots on them.

Really is something else to behold. Is this the first time this boy has fed on his own? I remember you saying you had to tube the snake.
Love they yellow and blood red eyes. You are one hell of a lucky fellow to be working with this BV & I am extremely pleased that it all seems to be going well.

I don't feel sorry for the bird or her eggs. Not even one bit. It's the circle of life!

DK he does not want to eat Quail eggs but I think the smell of the nest and the wild eggs got him going. I am going to keep the nest and put all the eggs in there every time.

He has three girlfriends this season so he needs the energy. I would hate to lose this genetic deviation.

The lavender between the scales is stunning. I did not want to switch the flash on and scare him off.

Froot yes it is crazy to think that you would not see this anywhere else in the world. Makes you feel priviledged.

I'm glad you didn't use a flash, it tends to destroy the colouring and at least now I can see the lavender between the scales the you are talking about. All the best with this season BV.

I'd love to see this morph on the D. loveridgeii or whatever the Dasypeltis around here are called these days. I expect a lot more red than these.
