Here are some pics of my latest viv, to get some opinions on what I animal I should add to it and what every one thinks. The viv has been running for about a month getting plants established, will add some more as time goes on. The water section is about 7cm deep and has 4 female siamese fighters and an algae eater also been in for about a month. I was thinking of putting my tokay in it but I am concerned about him falling into the wateror eat the fish.

I have added moss to parts of the tank, and it is only now starting to grow properly

What I realy want to know is what animal is suitable for this habitat, that wont destroy it the tank is 1200mm

I wouldn't put the Tokay in there.
Possibly a Pac-man frog or two?

This is really really an awesuome display setup.Congrats on making all this efford for your pets.
I would say you should have proberbly thought of the animal that is suiteble for the viv before building it tho.
Something that likes dampness and humidity,but not completely arboreal that would'nt eat your fish or plants????
Maybe loads of poison arrow frogs or tree frogs?Donno how it will go along with the siamese fighters and algae eater tho.
Pls post pix of what lives in the viv at the end off the day so we can see it in action.

I had frogs in mind when I was building it, but what can I get locally? Reed frogs are all I can think of.

You may have a problem keeping reed frogs from a legal standpoint.

Exotic frogs are a no-no because of chytrid fungus, I give you a massive thumbs up because that is the sickest viv I have seen in a while mate.

p.s Dart frogs would drown in there, the water is too deep. They not good swimmers at all.

Or even get a few more fish in there and some toads or river frogs and even platanas and have a water snake... Just an idea

I'd go with frogs, reed frogs or sort there of
very nice I might be getting some red eyed tree frogs very nice!

I've been doing some research online about building a proper viv for my froggies the problem I am having is finding the plants they prefer in South-Africa and shipping here is not happening, invasive species and all that.

What I want ask you is what plants you used as low light plants that can survive in such an environment, and how you built the bedding or better put, the substrate to be able to supply nutrients to the plants without compromising pollution to the water etc...

Very nice setup. Pity exotic amphibians are illegal as some poison dart frogs would look great in there!

Of snakes to add I would say:
White lip vipers
Garters (Though they will eat your fish)

But I think added frogs would be best.

Not sure for some lizard types...Monitors get too big, but as a start up for them...
