Before and after pic of cape terapin shell break

Postby chondro3000 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 4:26 pm

This terrapin was brought to me after a tractor ran over it at work and broke it's shell. I took it to the vet where the wounds were cleaned and the vet wanted to mend the broken shell with a fiber glass bandage but they didnt have in stock so I went out and bought pratley steel putty to make a temporary fix. I had to sit with this smelly terrapin in my hand holding it so the putty can set for 45min but the result is stunning. 3 month later I removed the putty and the break is healed. Sorry but I dont have a pic of the break before it was set.

Well done, it's amazing how tough these animals are and how well they are able to heal.

Good old pratley putty. Nice idea and at least it worked.
