Well all I can say is I just love the pictures with the mountains in the background.

Very cool. Armata mentioned some time back that he was looking for similar shots for his new book. Maybe chat to him about it.

Are the pics in situ or did you move him to a more photogenic spot?

Thanks guys...I actually stepped on this guy without seeing him, had venom all over the side of my boot. So this it where it moved after that, about a metre away, so ja...in situ with a slight disturbance

And time of day? Temp etc? Was he far from the nearest refuge? The pics give the impression that he was.

Awesome! Stunning atropos, looks like a decent size as well? I love the habitat shots, I know armata is crazy about those :)

It was found in and amongst some grass tussocks(?) Adjaccent to a jeep track on the slopes of a Kloof. There was a large boulder a few metres away which may quite possibly be its refuge spot.

The snake was found last thursday at about 2pm...there was very little wind and the temperature was in the low 20's. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself...

It was, I assume, basking on the grass in the background of the two habitat shots
