Anyone hear of the Forest cobra bite where the victim lost part of his finger? Hardly any neurotoxic symptoms, just some vomiting and LOADS of pain.

Don't want to mention names, not that it's a secret but he's not a member on this forum.

He is not the only person who had a finger or part of a finger amputated from a Forest cobra bite. It seesm that i have managed to track down 3 of them. Two with local Forest cobras and one with a Central African forest cobra.

So the final verdict: Am going into surgery tuesday. The cartilage between the joint at the bite site is completely gone, so the best outcome is that they will be able to shave down the bones and wire them together so they can later possibly be fused. Worst outcome is that there's too much damage to the bone and they'l have to amputate the tip of the finger.
