The child has been referred as a night adder bite... The granny killed the snake & it was sent to the base hospital, but not on to us at the referral hospital. It was about 1m long, 3cm diameter, light brown in colour with 'fawn' spots on it. She is sure there were no dark brown / black markings. and when I showed her the pics of a night adder she says it isn't the correct snake... She insists it was not a puff adder
Any other ideas in the South Coast area of KZN. Predominant cytotoxic effects but only 17 hours since the bite
