I wouldn't count on it. Hahah......BHPs are a different beast.
Hell, out of the 10 biggest breeders here in the states.....7 of them have struck out the last 5 or 6 years.
Hatching those bastards can be a royal pain in the ass! Couple that with the fact that....females are only good for 3 or 4 breeding seasons before they burn out from the fat contents in the rodents we feed em'.
The history of captive breedings has proven them to be inconsistent, at best. When we start seeing keepers producing them consistently...over a 10 year time period (and not one or 2 breeders....but, on average) then we'll see those numbers jump way up. 98% of the keepers I know send me e mails every year saying..... "they haven't gotten anything", "DID get eggs but killed them all....or I get one of these pictures.......
Very few keepers that have BHPs........ actually send me pictures of hatchlings.
I've had hatchlings for 7 years going but, only because I have huge numbers of adults. If I only had a pair of animals.......I'd would have only had 1 or 2 clutches.
It is great that you guys are getting more animals in the country........Now to breed them all and hatch the eggs. Good luck!
Good to speak with you all again BTW.
