Hmmm Serpy.
As far as some of the knowledge I’ve gained is that Boa`s don`t lay eggs at all.
The young are attached to a yolk sac and surrounded by a clear membrane, not a shell, as they develop in their mother’s body.
Pythons on the other hand do lay eggs(it`s not just a protective membrane).
As for heat goes, because they are inside their mother, the temperature is fairly constant (so if you where to say incubated it will be the same temp the mother uses on herself, so it will be between 29C - 33C(for most of the boa species).

I might be corrected on the information I just gave.
So if the temperature that is used by the female(mom) is also the same as "incubating" in that term, then groovy is correct.

Hey Serpy.
I did a google on it.
And the only one I could find was this one - Calabar Burrowing Boa also known as Calabar Burrowing Python
1.2.0 Python molurus bivittatus
0.0.1 Epicrates Cenchria Maurus
2.4.0 B. c. constrictor

Its now classified as a boa and not really known as a python any more (now regarded as an Erycine which are the sand boa's as far as I know)

the other 2 are to my knowledge so I speak under correction are the Arabian sand boa and west african sand boa...

Hey Serpy (very intersting read0
I went through some of the readings and why they where recoded under boa`s.
As far as i could understand is that with phylogenetics they could link it to new and old world sand boa`s, and they also used the taxonomy of the sand boa`s to validate their decision to make it a boa and not a python.
Now all of the above stand under correction, and please tell me if I did go wrong somewhere.

If BV is reffering to the Calabar Burrowing Boa, then the incubation temperature should be constant at 31C (They will then pip in about 40days), and at 30C(then they will pip at around 65days)

I wont say Groovy cheated but he was forewarned. Some Eryx do lay soft shelled eggs which can hatch after only 14 days at 29 to 30 degrees.

Calabars is a python until someone manages to convince me otherwise. Kluge did not manage that.

Groovy now you have to beat that one!
