:) Yes I have spend about the same amount on my setup as what I have paid for the snake just to try and get the perfect setup going. And yet I want another one.

First pay checks that I earn are solely going towards getting me one of these! Absolutely stunning snake!

Damnit! Can't edit my post! What are the dimensions of your setup?

What do you guys with these snakes do about humidity when you go away and not able to spray the cage every day?
I spray my cage at night and the humidity goes up to about 99%, it then slowly drops to about 65% by the next evening when I spray again.

I have now put my heat pad under the water bowl on a timer that goes on every night and stays on but the humidity then stays on about 73% but never goes over 75%.

Mitton I have the same routine as yours. Spray at evening and in the mornings open up the mesh to let the cage dry.
My heating pad is on the side of the cage next to a very big waterbowl. This helps to keep the humidity at a constant of 75 percent when I don't spray. This force's me too open up the cage to drop humidity in the 60's.

I have been wondering about the same thing when I have to go away but according to Greg Maxwell giving them 100% humidity once every day will not become a train smash if you don't do it every day.

This might be a VERY doof answer Mitton, but bear with me.... I fell on my head!!

I have seen people using those automatic air fresheners and I believe you can get the canisters for a water option instead of the aromatic ones. Personally I havent tried looking for one, but you can set that to go off once a day so if you had to set it up against on of your vents my guess would be it would spray once a day into the cage. Worth having a look into. Once I get the big cages sorted for the retic and burms will look into on of those things.
I have also seen a fan that sprays a fine mist around the room to cool it off, might be a better option for those BIIIIGGGG constrictor cages and put it on a timer to go on once or twice a day for a 3 minute misting. :smt017

I see what you mean about the eyes. That is special.

You can buy any timers that work in increments of 15 minutes. If you buy an ultrasonic mist maker from a pet shop that makes that fine mist then you can just place that outside the cage and when it switches on the mist can slowly descend into the cage. It is very fine and you do stand the chance that it will drop the temperatures a bit. I am sure they will be cheap in the chinese market too.

The air freshener might also be a solution but getting it to just spray at night is another issue.

Bought a humidifier at Dischem for R160.00. Connected it to a timer and Bob is your uncle, it switches on at 19H00 and off 06h00 so the enclosure can dry out again. It is a small humidifier, but very effective. That together with the large water bowl over the heatpad (also connected on timer) lifts the humidity to 100% during the night and early morning hours. When everything switches off the humidity drop back down to 75%. My chondro seem to love this, it shed's perfect in one piece and is very much out and about roaming at night. Something else i want to run by the more experienced keepers....will it work if i hollow out a 20mm dell stick and run a low W heat wire through it for winter time? So if it should perch on that stick it would get heat directly from it. Just a thought that came up...any thoughts on this?
