Specimens from a Garden

Hi there
I decided to share these photos sent to me by my friend. She lives just outside Grahamstown and has multiple snake visitors to her garden. This weekend they had some Boomslangs, but unfortunately they didn't get pics. Her husband knows his snakes & they relocate the venomous ones as they have 2 young children.
These are 2 that they did get photos of:

Baby Puffadder - Bitis arietans. I think it is a beautiful specimen


Common Slug Eater - Duberria lutrix

Jen would that puffy colour up as he grows up?Reason i'm asking is because I live on a farm just outside Port Alfred and all the puffies I find are dark black and yellow.Grahamstown is probably about 30kms from me.

I would suspect this one is a female and the ones you have seen are males. In the Eastern Cape we have beautiful yellow and black males!!

By looking at the tail I think this might be a male. Beautiful colour.

I lived many years on a farm 1/2 way between Port Alfred and Grahamstown, and came across many puff adders, they can have a variety of patterns and different shades. The yellow black one seemed to be most freqently visitor.
