Collection stolen!

Postby Wvipera » Sun Mar 20, 2011 8:46 pm

last night, 19/03/2011 a close friends premises in edenvale, JHB, was broken into and the majority of his collection was stolen. Almost exclusively exotic animals were taken. All highly venomous animals were left behind (of high value) - obvioiusly the thieves are not experienced in handling venomous snakes.
Please be aware of the following list of snakes being sold in high volumes or at low prices as they may well be stolen items. If you do have any information of such dealings or animals please contact Edenvale Police station or the owner 084 916 4737. Our reptile community is relavitelty small so these animals will surface at some stage.

bliksem. That's a large hall of animals. Wow shame, poor animals are in for rocky times ahead. Doubt they will be cared for and fed for some timeo come. Hope the thieves get tagged by the rattlers they stole. So sorry for the owners loss, hopefully a bust gets made soon and all the snakes can be returned.

As with the Pseudocordylis!
IT will be a matter of time before they all surface.

thanks everyone, the owner is quite devastated.
2 suspects were arrested yesterday, but are not giving up the location of the stolen items. They will probably make bail tomorrow and the only question is what happens to the animals? As it seems, large numbers of snakes were piled into relatively small tubs, just hope they all survive.
will keep you updated

Good luck, we had animals stolen awhile back, it is devastating :( As mentioned though, many are not run of the mill, just make sure all pet shops etc are made aware of what to look for ...

I think one must be very careful with assumptions. Reinhard did you phone that number spoke to the person etc.

On the stolen stuff, very stupid robbers to think they can get away with something like this. Hope they get what they deserve.
