I can say, if we keep being skeptical about everything, we would have nothing. My newest corn was for sale for R450, including cage. She is a year and a half old, and is recovering well from being fed one pinky a week :D Was a good deal I think :D
But, some adds just FAILS! The outcome is not how you spell, it is what you get :D

I agree with Rodwrayla. I have bought quite a few things on Gumtree and Junkmail. I also enjoy looking at what people have for sale/give away.

You do pick up huge bargains on there and we are just being snobs.

But a red tail bower is an unusual find indeed

Did you spot the baby skull and the creepy hand behind the tank? It's a whole family of horrors in there...

You know what absolutely blows my mind, is that some people don't bother learning anything - The day I got my first snake I was on the internet, reading up and researching and finding out as much as I could. If you buy a BOA and can't even spell BOA, what on earth is motivating you to keep up the love? For sure, not everyone has access to the internet, but if you can post an ad on gumtree, there is no excuse... I think it was posted the other day that someone was selling their Red Tail Python... Seriously?

I have seen this MANY times, not only online. Quite sad!!

Just my two cents.

I found this gem on Junkmail

A BLACK NECK SPITTING COBRA FEMALE FOR R3500 VERY TAME , HEALTHY , EATING & SHADING WELL FOR SOME ONE WHO CAN HANDLE VENOMOUS SNAKES URGENT SALE

Okay so 1stly we have a very tame spitting cobra. And it is shading well.
I don't know if i would ever care if it is tame. I would still be careful as can be.

The cobra "shading" prosess is as follows: Look at the topic for free handling venomous snakes.....the free handler is outside in the sun holding the cobra high up in the air, snake and free handler facing the sun,the snake shadow is falling on the free handler .....now the cobra is shading the free handler......easy :D

Found this one the other day "RED TAIL BOA: 60cm & x1 Ghost red tail boa 60cm. R.1400 both (Krugersdorp) (Krugersdorp)"
Firstly I can hardly understand what he has for sale but decided to humour myself anyway by asking for a picture. I get a pic back of two normals to which I reply "where is the ghost?" He replies back "its the light one"

I agree with Bianca if you don't even know what you have how can you look after it and more importantly be motivated to clean up after and enjoy it!
