Postby Neboo » Mon Sep 04, 2006 7:13 am

Steve Irwin, the Australian TV presenter known as the "Crocodile Hunter," has died after being stung in a marine accident off Australia's north coast.

I read this on cnn this morning :(

It's a bad loss for the herp community. I don't thenk there is anywhere in the world where people havent heard of the crocodile hunter.

He's handled so many venomous reptiles, and then he get's stung / killed by a fish. It's not right!!!

Best wishes to his family.

Hi...

But serious... He had it comming... If you deal with venomous snakes, crocks and other dangerous animals the way he did you are running out of luck sooner or later...

Best wishes to his family !

It is a sad day for the world today. I dont know of anybody who changed the image of reptile's as much as Steve Irwin did. A true Hero has fallen. Best wishes to the Irwin family and friends he will be missed.

I agree The Boss.

I'm sure everyone thought that he would've been taken by a croc, not anything else.

He made true to this saying:

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "WOW, what a ride!"

Hi:

Very sad indeed :(

I agree with the Boss. Steve brought reptile conservation to lots of homes around the world. Even if people still didn't like snakes many watched his show because he was bigger than life, accurate, and entertaining. Our hobby was delt a big blow today. My heart goes out to the Irwin family and the staff of Australia Zoo. At least he died doing what he loved, working with animals.
