I am not sure if its entirely correct to say there is no antivenom for this snake, what about our local polyvalent antivenom. Then you should know that antivenom production is a fairly complex and very expensive so unless you have access to the right equipment, a couple horses and lots of money it is unlikely that you will get this right.

The biggest problem with producing antivenom would be the collecting of specimens. They would have to have specific localities before the vaccine producers would even contemplate using the venom. The problem is that Namibia do not allow the collection of these snakes even for the production of antivenom.

Selling the antivenom will also be a problem because most of the people that do get bitten by this snake do not have the finances to purchase it and will fall back onto the SAVP polyvalent which helps to combat the effects of this venom, even if it is not a cure as such.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
