Congrats man, those are some beautiful babies.
Post some pics of the parents.

Here picture from baby skaapsteker after changing skin. The father have creme colour. Not grey like the most skaapstecker from west/east cape. Now the most babies have this creme colour too after they change skin now. mother was grey/father was creme. I think the father colour is dominant. But I have eggs from creme mother and creme fahter. In my terrarium west/east cape skaapsteker climbing very much. The KZN Skaapsteker is more on ground.
Here picture from fahter from the babies.

I am glad somebody is going to so much effort with a species that is virtually never kept or bred in its country of origin. I hope the babies all do well for you.

New babies

Postby Vipernhunter » Sat Jun 30, 2012 7:07 pm

Here two from new babies I get for some days and they change the skin today. They are very colorfull. The color you see on picture is original.
Sorry, but I cant send pictures with more than 100 pixels.

Next days I make picture from different babies from the last clutch.

Best greetings to all the snake breeders

Oli

the babies from first clutch I feed yesterday with peaces from baby mice. But they dont eat self. But it is not big problem to feed them with mice in future. Babyfemale eats much better thant Babymale.

Here picture from new clutch and the mother. But problem is that the picture I must reduce from the picture original from 7 MB to 95 KB. So the optic is not s nice. Sorry

They are stunning! Really is a pity that they aren't a "pet" snake over here. Would love to have more CB indigenous stuff in my collection (geckos and snakes).

Yes I think in South Africa the people dont like pets were live in front on door. Were I live it is the same.

But I hope that the Arican begins to breed the rare species like b.armata, b.rubida, bitis inornata, bitis albanica and some other rare species. I have a breeding station from rare Ursinii and I breed in last 8 years about 300 from them and now a lot of people have this and may be we can put a lot of species in wild if we get protected landscape for them. Same like natrix schweizeri.

Vipernhunter can you please explain how you are feeding the hatchlings.I saw you said you are using pinky parts but how do you get the snakes to eat the mouse part?
