They do bite and poo in there water so you have to change the water 3 to 4 times a week.
You learn when she wants to be out and about and when to leave her alone.
I don`t know if all yellow annies don`t like to be taken out of the water but mine hates it
And I have to do it so often. It goes something like this.
Ag toe meisiekind stop jou stron@ ek wil net jou water vervang ag toe werk nou saam.

Haha sounds familiar. That's the thing I hate about them. I will just finish cleaning the water bowl, and when I look the next day it's dirty again.

When we kept our annies in smaller enclosures (ie regular cages) they used to defecate in the water all the time. Now that they are in their enclosure in the reptile park they seldom do, and certainly no more than the other boas and pythons. I wonder if it is then related to cage size or water bowl size? We have 3 in a room size enclosure with plenty of ledges etc and a pond sized water bowl, even when they spend a long time in the water they only occasionally defecate in there? That is not judging anyone's cage size, just an observation given that we have the luxury of an enormous enclosure.

In my experience I would have to disagree. They still defecate in their water bowl even after I put them in their new big enclosure.

My opinion is they poo and bite and thats about it. The 2 I have the one is a moody snake and the other one havent even strike at me so maybe it just depends but mine wont poo outside the water so its really 4 times a week to clean the water

I have played a bit with her humidity and found that she will be more out of her water when I up the humidity from 60% to 75%. Temps stayed 29-31 on hot side and 25-26 on the cooler end.

And just to show off a bit.

Thanks Deimist.

Just want to know if the anaconda keepers here have similar experiences.
