Something new...(Boiga tanahjampeana)

Postby Eyelash » Mon Jan 21, 2013 1:00 am

I recently acquired these amazing snakes and just had to share them with you guys !

Boiga tanahjampeana is a relatively new species of cat snake (only described in 2002). They are known to occur on Tanahjampea Island, Indonesia. Little is known about their venom but it should be similar to other Boiga species...

I hope you guys enjoyed them as much as I do. I'll post some full-body pics soon... :D

Regards
Louis.

Thanks guys !

Boiga is an incredible genus to work with. It's a pity they aren't more readily available in SA !

Thanks Michael !

These have been around. I bought them from a Boiga specialist in Switzerland and they were then taken to the Hamm show in Germany were a friend kept them for over a year before they came to stay here in SA !

It was a very long wait but definitely worth it !

Now I just need to get them breeding... ;)
