My Leo's poop looks the same as when it went in!

Postby Brennanm » Thu Jan 31, 2013 3:15 pm

I Have a 2 month old leopard gecko and i found what seems to be a perfect 4 small mealworms all stuck together. Is this ok?
Im not actually sure if its poop or if she brought it up orally.

Im kind of worried that she didnt digest them and in turn not get the nutrients

Please help

My leo once pooped a whole cricket, but it only happened once and I have no idea what caused it.

what worries me is that she has also turned very pale. At first i thought it was because she was going to shed but then i saw the weird poop. But nonetheless, i have provided her with a tub filled with moist sphagnum moss in case she does need to shed. She is still alert and everything.

How often do they shed at 2 months of age?

They might not be digesting properly. Try getting some probiotics from the vet and putting that in the drinking water or in the food.

That sounds like its been regurgitated ey. I've seen it a few times with a mate's geckos. Give him 2 days before offering food again.

Easiest way of getting probiotics is yoghurt...

Activia's one proved to be well liked when I still had my leos.

Don't give it to them too often though, only give as a treat.

Put some in a small bottlecap or something inside the enclosure, they mught not take it right away, but most do.

Maybe try some with the next feeding... Yoghurt dipped mealies... mmm mmm...
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other...
