burmese bedding

Postby AM-Rock python » Sun Jul 07, 2013 6:43 pm

Hi all .
Just concerned about a friends burmese python's health ! He bought this grass from a local petshop , they use it as a bedding/feeder for rodents . It looks like long dried out pieces of lawn grass . Is this safe to use in a python's cage as bedding ? :smt017 :-?

Sounds like it's hay. I won't know if it will work as snake bedding though...

I wouldn't use hay as snake bedding. Specially for a burm.

Advice your friend to use news newspaper rather than "grass" as it is much safer and it doesn't cost anything. If he wants his enclosure too look better eucalyptus mulch or coconut husk. I use both these substrates and they work great!

Sound like Lucerne, i've seen it being sold in Petshops these days, and rodents can eat it.
