Couple of boas

Couple of boas

Postby Bushviper » Mon Sep 02, 2013 11:48 am

I have decided to post a few boas every day just to show what is available in the local market. These are all my own photographs of our own animals. They are not in any order though.

Very nice looking snakes. The last one is definitely a winner for me.

Thought I should just add some locality stuff as well. The others are all morphs while these are not.

My word, that suriname is a stunner, as well as the amarali! Subspecies we dont get too see too often (or al all) locally.

Crazy selection, congrats guys.

Have you had these for a while or a new import?

Oh my word, that occidentalis does it for me. Absolutely stunning as far as I am concerned.

Nope these are all locals we have bought up over time. I am also glad about the Argentine boa but she does not look gravid this year. Who knows, we are still holding thumbs.

Day two. Some more boas.

Not my favourite snake but the only male we could get. Salmon x Argentine boa (aka Salmontine)

That B.c. occidentalis is really nice. I didn’t realize we were fortunate enough to have any in the country. I really hope she drops tons of babies for you!

Wow! These are some seriously awesome snakes!

How much would pure B. c. constrictor and B. c. amarali go for in SA? I'd imagine reputable breeders would be able to command a slightly higher price due to the guarantee of genetic purity as I often see people trying to pass off their intergrades as pure B. c. constrictor

It's always difficult to chose a favorite boa... I like them all, but that Pastel Super Salmon does have a special place in my heart as I produced her.

The B c occidentalis is a very intimidating snake, but they have the freakiest eyes.

I think the Kahl strain albino posted is actually the Sunglow?

I will check up on them. I have this as the Sunglow

Image

and this as the albino

Image

but boas do change colour depending on temperatures and when last they have eaten.

Here is a coral albino which is also stunning

Image

and then the Lipstick Coral albino Motley Sunglow

Image

Then a Salmon jungle
Image

and lastly a Super salmon pastel
Image

I will possibly be putting these pictures all up on two posters so if anyone is interested they should be at the expo this weekend.
