New Enclosure for my Boa.

Postby Vandiliz3r » Tue May 13, 2014 8:44 am

Sup Everyone,

So i have recently got a Red tail Boa from a Friend and i decided to build i neat "little" :D Enclosure for this "Little" Guy/Girl (Not Sure on the SEX yet).
I decided that i want to show off my hard work and perhaps get some more pointers and advice from you more experienced breeders/Keepers.

You will notice that i have shelves on the side of the enclosure for "hiding".
I also have the enclosure running a cool side and warm side, The right side has a heating pad and Infrared bulb (Temp 30 degrees).
The left side only has a "Day" light which is off at night (Temp 25-27 degrees)

Enclosure sizes

Height : 600mm
Depth : 600mm
Width : 2500mm

Ignore the background of the enclosure and stand this is all still a work in progress as i have also recently built a house, Which should explain the tiles below the enclosure

Looks good man.

A bit of advice for next time, rather add a small lip (50mm) at the bottom of the cage. Once your snake has had a good cruise around, I am sure you will see you get substrate in your sliding glass rails. By adding the lip you solve this problem.

Also, that peat moss is not ideal for larger snakes due to the risk of ingesting and it getting stuck in they nostrils etc. Rather try to get hold of kenaf or E-mulch. They will work better.

But overall great cage.

Not really a need for the bulb....

If I were you I'd just add a few more hides.

Other than that it looks epic!
