Good day, we stay in Roodepoort, close to the botanical gardens and Rangeview. We have a bit of rock and shrub in our garden. Yesterday my sons found a green snake with either black stripes or dots. Anyone able to ID it for me please, guessing spotted bush? thanks

Perfect, thanks. Appreciate the offfer. My understanding is that other than a bite, harmless? (Have 2 kids and their freinds running around the rocks often, don't need any critical incidents...)

Yes its pretty much harmless. No venom at all but can bite if you try to hold it. Just warn the kids to not pick up or catch anything that could hurt them.
