Unknown - Identification Required

Good Morning All

This pic was sent to me to try and identify a snake that comes from the Natal Midlands, as far as I am aware.
Unfortunately, it looks as if the snake was killed.

The pic is not the best.
Please assist with identification.

That is what I thought, but got thrown by the ringed patterning down towards the tail.

Many BMs actually have some sort of pattern, especially the ones from Zim and Zambia, but it's not unheard of in RSA.

The picture looks like a younger specimen, so it could be that the pattern is just more prominent due to the young age.
