AMEL BANDED MOTLEYS - Hatchlings

AMEL BANDED MOTLEYS - Hatchlings

These have just shed and eaten and are all looking gorgeous. I've decided to keep a female back, but now which one to choose!!!

The interesting thing with these corns is that the bands only become really noticeable as they get older,
but the colours are stunning nonetheless! (I think)

Really vibrant colours. Very nice. Do you have some of the adult pics?

You could be the next Cathy Love! Have you ever tried making your own morph?

I've only got a pic of one of the males. I must take some pics of the others. Their colours vary considerably, but they are all really striking. Here's a pic of one of the males:

Unfortunately because we have SO MANY snakes (1,000 +), I don't have the space, nor the time, to experiment with new corn morphs. I know I have the recipe to create numerous morphs, but I just don't have the extra space to keep back all the offspring. (That's why we take shortcuts - import!)

Thanks for all the lovely comments!

Alexander, Corns have the most morphs of any snake (I stand corrected).

That's why I love them so so much!

Even within a morph, colours vary! They are awesome!!! :D

Isn't importing quite expensive though? And time consuming too i'd imagine?

As a matter of interest Chantel what kind of storage methods do you use to keep 1000+ snakes? Do you use rack systems with tubs for them or do you have bigger display type cages? Also how many people do you have to help you clean and feed everyone? Sorry for all the questions but I am genuinely interested in the logistics of keeping that many snakes. You must have a lot of checks in place to make sure their temps and lighting are just right too. There are just so many things that can go wrong. I heard that one of the mouse breeders in Gauteng recently lost about 6000 mice due to a heat wave. He now has a lot of frozen stock ;)

BTW your corns are stunning! I must never come snake shopping in your neck of the woods or I will have to take out a second mortgage on my house :D
