The 1st one which hatched was out and he is looking good, but unfortunately the other 2 which had hatched by this morning did not look that good. Will check this afternoon and see what they look like.

No, not good as in they were still half in the egg, but half their bodies out. They looked lethargic. I don't think they are gonna make it :( Will have to wait and see. There were 14 eggs in total which looked good.

If you look closely, it looks like the little snake is strangled by the egg, the slit that the snake cutt does not look large enough, that may be the reason that they are lethargic (oxygen starvation)

My advice would be to cut open the rest of the eggs today, the other babies might not be able to cut by themselves.

On the last photo, there are two snakes with their heads out. Well... The top one made it, the bottom one not... Here's a pic of the 2 of them next to each other. I have a miniture cornsnake!! WHOOHOO!! I guess that means I should send it to Tat and Froot.

We have cut all the eggs... and by this morning 6 eggs in total have hatched. I still have 8 eggs waiting some of them have their noses out, others not. I'm patient. Maybe too patient.

The miniture made it. The normal sized one didn't.

Yeah, just cut them and leave them. Haven't have much success where I've taken the babies out of the eggs.

If you take the babies out, they normally do not absorb the yolk attached to their umbilical, because it dries out. So they start with a major energy disadvantage.

Thanks guys just checking cause normally those that I have taken out dont make it. When u cut how do you make sure you dont cut any blood vessels I have heard if you paint the egg with water ( thin stripe ) you can see if there are blood vessels before cutting.

Just something else I have noticed and not sure if this is natures way of making sure babies dont get eaten by their siblings. If you leave the eggs to slit on their own they do so over a period of 5 to 7 days. Is this not a way of nature ensuring that the babies do not get to hatch together, thus preventing them eating each other?

The last egg hatched yesterday morning. Unfortunately I had a badly deformed hatchling which was euthenaised. It was in the corner of the tub and might have had higher fluctuations in temps, or summink. I'm not sure what went wrong there.

Our second clutch of eggs started hatching today. They were laid on the 21st Novemeber. I am expecting the third clutch to start hatching either the weekend or early next week.
