Emerald on hunger strike.

Hey everybody. My emerald tree boa has gone on a hunger strike for the last three months. Seems to be losing a little weight and is not interested at all. Tried leaving food in the cage, trien isolating him in a smaller envioroment with food, tried force feeding........nothing, nada. Who has others with smilar problems and what can i do??

don't know about boas, when we changed our blood python and ball python over to natural vivs they went from non-feeders to food monsters, and have never looked back. Posted info for someone else the other day under topic "biocative substrate" if you're thinking about it (if its your last resort its worth a try!)

Emeralds are notorious for doing that. Force feeding will kill the snake. Make sure the temperature is right and the humidity is high. They need lots of cover and should eventually eat.

Go google exactly how to look after these snakes as they are very finicky and do not forgive any mistakes in their husbandry.

hey bushviper. ive pushed humidity up to 85% and the temp at around 28-30 degrees. after having a closer look, seems like the emerald has not had a shed for a while. gonna try soaking to see if i can get the skin off. got a feeling hes stressing a little with that skin on there.

Got the same problem with a BP - but only a month now.
