Hellemar the permits they get in the Cape Province is for catch and release which means they may not keep them or even think of exporting them.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Hi...

"Catch and release"... So, if they go out fieldherping, catch some nice Naja nivea´s and then release them into a box with my name on it, then it would be okey... ;)

Nah, I don´t want any Naja nivea´s right now because of my shoulder... But when it is 100% okey they are on my wish-list... :-P

That one in the middle looks a little on the thin side. Hope you are feeding it.

007, considering the amount you catch and release I guess 2 hoppers is a lot more than the snake would have got in the wild anyway.(Near future)

Exactly as it is about to start raining in the W/Cape in next week or two and the animal was caught trying to secure a last meal. The animal being caught & released will take some time to adapted and get accustomed too new surroundings or new hunting ground etc. When the rains start it will be winter and if the animal has not been fed it will die.
So much for catch & rescue then, hey. Two babby rats are not going to do it.

I have been at this a hell of a lot longer than you and your buddy so please lets not make statements you have no idea of what you are talking about. O.K

Just for the record - It was released 2006/12/20, way before the cold, wet winter rain in the beautiful Western Cape . . .

Correction, not (babby) baby rats, but hopper rats Shaun . . .

Sorry but you are seen by many as a ‘fortune teller’ of half-truths and lies so I personally cannot verify what you have conjured up as being the trueth.
I know for a fact that you got your Catch & release permit because you snuggled up to an individual in C.N and have very little knowlage on the subject. In my opinion you are doing more damage due to being clue less that what it is worth.
Don’t kill it, if you are not planning to eat it.

Marcel is knowledgeable, but unlike you Shaun is willing to learn, as we all are.
