A nice Horned Adder

Postby Pythonodipsas » Sat Jun 09, 2007 10:16 pm

Some of you may know this snake. I saw it about 4 years ago a Stuart Hebbards snake park in Swakopmund Namibia. He said it came from the skeleton coast area and it is normal for them to be so colorful from up there.

Pictures don't do its colours justice - it looked luminous in real life.

It was an adult snake when I saw it in 2003. I know its still alive. There is a picture of it in his latest guide.

Wow that does not even look close to any other
B. caudalis specimen I have ever seen.

The Skeleton coast is where they shoot you for trespassing I think. Pity.

Isn't that the diamond concession area? I heard they don't let you up the skeleton coast without sufficient provisions. Although it's been 10 years since I was there so.. maybe but I doubt it.

Stunning specimen btw, you people make me envious ;)

.

I am not sure about the status either but I am sure I would've heard about this. The Skeleton Coast is a big tourist area though I think is policed or guarded well.

Drummer I will by your side, dodging bullets with a smile on my face. That snake is truly stunning.
