Beautifull gabonica

I have spent 10 hours in a car today. But it was worth every minute. I wen't to collect my adult pair of Bitis gabonica and some stuff for some other people. The female measured in at 118cm and the male at 102cm. They are gorgeous and extremely heavy!

I WOULD HAVE POSTED PICS BUT I CANNOT UPLOAD PICS IN THE GALLERY AS IT GIVES ME "THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED" ALL THE TIME.

Oh well, you guys will just have to take my word for it for now.

Ok well at least I managed to get 2 pics up for now.

First the male (Who is currently shedding so he is a bit drab).

And now the female. She is much bulkier than him.

Hope you guys like them. Will post lots of pics as soon as I get this internet connection sorted out.

Very nice snakes, they are nicer and far rarer in captivity than easterns seem to be.

@ Dave : Yes they are not fully grown yet but should probably breed next year.

@ Mongoose : I got them from a guy in KZN who had some on permit, not sure about exact locality of origin.

@ Snake-5 : Thanks, they are nice. Sorry I don't quite follow your statement "and far rarer in captivity than easterns seem to be" They ARE East Africans. Or I misunderstood you and you meant that east africans are actually rare in captivity???

Snake-5,
B.Rhinoceros is a lot more common in the U.S.A than B.Gabonica.The latter I refer to as 'pure blood gaboons'

And now im waiting for someone who feels he must educate me about how its scientifically incorrect to say so..

PS: I dont think Ive ever seen beautiful gabbies at ZA expos..most of the time u see these little dull kids which will still knock most vipers' pants off.
