Postby NEWB » Thu Sep 27, 2007 9:20 am

Hi all,

After this little one had her shed I took some pics.

The previous photos I posted was a bit unclear.
Maybe these pics will help you to ID her?

Enjoy

Thanks for the new pics!!! She's looking Great!!!

I'm still in two minds as to whether she is a normal motley or a hypo motley...

Motley has a hypo effect that mimics hypo but isn't TRUE hypomelanism...

I am leaning slightly more towards hypo motley though...lol

Well, you know what they say! Only way to know for sure is to do test breedings! lol You could breed her to a ghost (hypo anery A [silver]) to check it out...or even a phantom (Hypo Anery B [Charcoal])

You COULD breed her to a Ghost motley but then I think you will have the same problem as you have now, not being sure which are normal motleys and which are hypo motleys! lol

PS: If you do decide to get something else to breed her to, Make sure she's a she! lol

I had her sexed twice and she is a she :D

Thanks she is a real beauty :D

How long do you think I must wait before I put them in one enclosure?

The anery motley male is in a 4 foot enclosure, there will be ample space for both of them?

How about forever? lol

I know some people do cohab corns but I don't like it, too risky. Up to you though. But I especially wouldn't house two of opposite sexes together. :)

She really is beautiful!

Many reasons...

1. Corns can get stressed out if living together, this can lead to all sorts of problems, not eating, regurging etc etc.
2. Cannabalism does happen in corns
3. (Main reason for me) Females that are too young or too small to breed can be mated and have eggs too soon which may lead to death.
4. If one regurges, how will you know which one did it and which one to treat for a regurge?

Do a search on "co-habbing" on of the corn snake forums, there is alot of information out there. :D

Yes, she is a scary little snake!!! hehehehe

I fed her last night, so when I opened the lid of her enclosure she immediately went in the defensive position, as to say “come B put your hand in, I dare you"

Needless to say I just fed het in her enclosure, didn't even try to take her out....
