Yellow or corn?

Postby the fox » Fri Nov 16, 2007 6:16 pm

I am still on the hunt for a corn snake breeding pair i stubbled across these breeding pair of yellow rat snakes so here are a few facts:

The corn breeding pair are sunglow het molteys, have made 28 eggs and then 16, inculding a 1,8 meter cage that is spit up into four sections= R2800

The yellow rats are 1,5m long, 2 batches of eggs, no cage= R1500

What would you do?
The yellows are more exotic and you see less of them? Is this better or worse?
The yellows i have been told are curious, in many mammals the more curiious the more intelligent. Is this in snakes as well, does it matter?

Fox.

I find it hard to believe that someone who is breeding that many snakes still needs to ask questions regarding what is more popular and which snakes are more intelligent. I will behave myself and not question how you are planning to sell ready laid eggs with the animals.
I for one am just an outspoken idiot and will no longer attempt to decipher what you are saying.
Once again I find myself apologizing for being so rude.
Sorry man.

I also (God forgive me) wonder how your Corns managed to produce a 1.8 metre cage.

Gees. If you're gonna be happy with the snakes, by ones you like, not ones that are going to make the most money. I thought all this was discussed in earlier topics. Oh boy here we go again.........

Ok here goes. Fox corns will be good starter's for you, as you said you've never bred snakes before. With corns you'll definitely get all the babies sold. In my experience believe it or not the normals are the best sellers. Of all our morph's the normals are the first to be sold out. Ok now yellow rats, i saw a whole lot for sale a while ago at a show, literally in a plastic jar labeled R100. I don't see the market being as good as for Corns. Rats are also more nippy. So fox i'd say rather go for the corns.

Lets put this down easily and non complicated.

Both nice, conrs cute and mostly nice tempered. rat snakes are very seldomly well tempered. No experience? Go for the corns.

Test. Go to the sellers, open the cage and take out the rat snake and try handling it for a while (without getting bitten). If you like you buy, if you don't like, don't buy. easy.

Try buying what you like, it usually works best. Most people don't like things like yellow anacondas, but some do. Those who don't like them, don't keep them, those who do like them, takes excellent care of them and love them to bits.

Okay "the fox" I have withheld comment until now.

Wtf do you want snakes? to make a quick buck? SPEND THE LEAST YOU CAN, make MAX PROFIT is what seems to be cooking.

I have been around when you have phoned various individuals and spoken to them about "breeding pairs"

The fact that you reply to what your looking for with "what ever is the cheapest" is quite sad.

I think you need to re-evaluate your situation here. Most people on this forum actually care for or like snakes, and are NOT out to make a quick buck.

I wouldn't be surprised if this post does get deleted, but hey, I know most of the forums users are thinking exactly what I'm saying.
