Bought this female burmese from my friend today. She is just over 3m and weights 12kg. Hopefully will breed her with my others next year.

Nice one. I'm sure she'll be happy. I've ordered 2 hatchling albino Burmese. I can't wait for them to arrive & grow to that size.

Cool! Congrats. I love Burms. She looks pretty relaxed in the pics. How many Burms you got now ? Are you feeding her bunnies? How many does she eat in a sitting?

Bushbaby albinos are awesome. Apparently this one is 5 years old, and has only been growing sideways not in length for like the past year, so i'm sure yours will get bigger because he fed only once a month.

Boadicea I've now got 3 burms of which one is albino. The one in the pics is my biggest one. I've only had her for one day so she hasn't eaten with me but apparently she doesn't like bunnies as my friend tried but she just curls around it, but she eats 4-5 adult rats and the odd chicken. Does anybody know if chickens are ok for burms

Yeah shouldn't be a problem, but they really aren't of much nutritional value, because they really don't have much meat, it's just a cheaper alternative to rabbits i guess.

That snake looks a bit too thin to breed. I would boost her by getting her really big chickens and adding lots of calcium to the chicken. Take the calcium tablets and push them down the DEAD chickens throat or even up the other end. Remove the wings because they just get in the way and have so little value.

I have seen a female burmese close to 6 metres that only ate chickens you buy at the shops. That is not nutricious enough though. She died egg bound because the calcium she was getting was not enough.

A friend of mine feeds his burmese big quails and the snake is doing very well.

Baby chicks have almost no nutritional value. The snakes eat but get thin and dont breed.

Sometimes you can buy the 'giblets' or entrails with the chicken, livers etc. Try get those too and insert them into the chicken.

Ok thanks. Yeah BV not going to breed her this year, i'll rather wait until next year so that the "quarentine" would be over and my male is a bit to small. I'm going to try a rabbit myself and see if she eats, if not then do like 4 rats. So it would be better nutritional value to feed like 4-5rats instead of 1 chicken?

I have a 3.5 m male that simply will not eat vermin, he will chase them around the cage all day but refuses to do the deed. He eats 3 large chickens or 2 large ducks at a feed and then he's cool for a month. He does this between October and March and then he's done for the year.
Good looking snake though.

Thanks Graeme. Apparently that is what this one does with rabbits but I got to try to see for my self.
