Yeah thanks.
He's not very green though, but I'm planning on adding some green/yellow plants to the enclosure... maybe it helps???

He is looking good, i would put alot of vegetation in there also spray him as they are not known to drink from a water bowl.,. you will find his colour will improve dramaticly with some vegetation

I bought three plants on Saturday and put them in his enclosure. Yip, quite a difference, he seems much happier and looks a better colour.

Here's another little updated picture.
He's growing so quickly and started shedding again yesterday.

Clay, what plants did you buy for his enclosure?Veileds will eat the leaves of plants in thier enclosure,i'm sure they'd know not to eat something poisous, but its risky. One plant readily available is a Ficus benjamina and perfectly safe to eat.Have a look for V-shaped marks on the leaves.

They're also super bushy and will provide tons of climbing and hiding space.

OK cheers, thanks for the advice, I'll look out and grab that plant.

I'll take some pics of the plants I've got now and get their names. I just asked the lady at our local nursery for 3 nice non toxic plants... hmmm, lets hope they are.

I see he is shedding again, like the 3rd time in 2 months or so. Is this normal for a young chameleon?

i used to keep a creeper plant in my chameleons enclosure, i put it in a small pot and watered it and let it do its thing, used to grow like crazy=) grab a spray bottle and spray the leaves and your chameleon will dig to lick the water off the leaves, cause its true what boaboy said, they dont know to drink out of a bowl...
Life is a beautiful struggle

What indoor house plants are safe to put inside my chameleons enclosure...???

I've seen lots of places selling these little "love palms" and thought a few of those would look cool, but when I asked are the poisonous they answer I get is I don't think so...
So I havent taken a chance...

I’m a bit concerned, my chameleon isn’t pigging out how he used to.
He used to eat as many meal worms and crickets as I would give him, and even took them out my hand.
Now it seems like he hardly eats… he does eat a cricket every now and then and hardly touches the meal worms anymore.
I do still see him drinking water though…
He is about 4 and half months old…

Has this happened to anyone else’s chameleon? Is there anything I should do or try, or do they do this sometimes.
Thanks

Has anything changed in the vivarium? What kind of lighting do you have? What about vitamins and calcium? Temps? Humidity?

Now that you mention it, I have been adding new fake plants to the vivarium. It was looking a little bare so I add some new plants and colour.

I have a double UVA/UVB fluorescent light, one spot lamp and last weekend I added an infra-red lamp which the pet shop recommended as the temperature is now getting a little lower now its getting into winter…

He does seem to love the lights and usually parks off under either the spot lamp or infra-red lamp…

I am not to sure on the temperature, will need to check, but it does seem pretty warm…
And I do mist his plants every morning and afternoon for him to drink.

Hmm, do you think all of these changes will effect him…?

I got him to take 4 crickets from my fingers yesterday... I'm hoping that means he's getting back to how he was, an eating machine.

It could be, that the changes triggered a temporary stress condition, but since food's going down again, I wouldn't be worried just yet :)
