Q, proven breeder!!!!

Postby Q Ball » Thu May 01, 2008 3:45 pm

Hi, Haven't posted much of late as I have started a new job and is incredibly busy.

Great news! Chantal (my gf) is gravid. At this stage we have no idea as to the clutch ratio or any sort of color morphs. I'm pretty sure it will be het for hot and should be quite a large specimen. I am looking for info on temp gradients and humidity. Live prey or frozen thawed? How often do they shed and what is the optimum substrate. Do they require permits?

Jokes aside, she is pregnant and although it's still early days, we are both very happy. Will keep everyone updated.

Thanx,

Elfie & Chantal

Temperature - whatever suits her, and then it still won't be OK.
Frozen or Thawed - depends on her mood. She may even combine the 2.....
Shed - Tears as often as they feel like it, and it is usually your fault, whether you did anything or not...
Substrate - whatever is the most comfortable
Permit - only time will tell. It could be a marriage permit, or a paternity permit.

Congratulations. May you be blessed with good fortune, and quiet nights. Once the hatchling arrives, it will be pajama drill...

Nice going. Just because you are a proven breeder dont go looking for the 1.2 trio scenario or you will be minus certain body parts.

Keep the gravid girl warm and give her whatever she wants. She will insist on that too.

You can send pics of any body changes to my private email too.

See this is why necking hots are no longer an acceptable practice. Someone is bound to get tagged and in this case the poor victim ends up with 9 months of continous swelling and moodswings... If a latex tube was used to restrain the offending animal this could have been avoided.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! My this be the first of many.

That is why the trouser snake is one of the deadliest species on earth. It causes 9 months of swelling, and a lifetime worth of keeping...
