I think it means that pics must be no larger than 256kb, I've had no problems uploading pics less than this size.

I use a program called pixresizer, easy to use and maintains quality very well.. (http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm)

Beardie&Box if you resize a picture to 256 KILOBYTES then it is workable but at 256 bytes it is not of any value. Most of my pics are under 50kb and they show perfectly.

I think he is referring to a 256 byte image file, by 'spec' he was probably meaning 'speck' as a reference to it's tiny size. This is why it is so important to use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation to help convey the message accurately. I suppose you can upload tiny image files but if you want your post to be appreciated by others you'd make sure your photos are of a respectable size. Not sure why I'd need to mention this though, it should be pretty obvious to everyone.

Yup, need to be specific, there is a BIG difference between 256bytes and 256kb..... 50kb seems to be a good size as BV said, it looks fine on a PC screen and does not take up a lot of space in your gallery quota

Will it not allow you to upload photo's to the Gallery, or to the website? If so, are you trying to upload it as an attachment or as a type file?

Hi, thx for the many replies and comments, which isn’t helping at all, the following Message in red appears" The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 256 Bytes.” when ever I try to upload and attachment, and I don't have a problem resizing pics to any size, b or Kb?? This is very frustrating not to mention time consuming. It only works when I upload files to my gallery but not when posting a new topic with an attachment?

Bushbaby: thx, the adjusments you made helped with uploading attachments!
Pls note that the error message in red only indicates "25 ." ? and no mention
of b or Kb for the file size.

It works for me, so I don't understand the problem.

Explain the process you go through to me, possibly there is something which does not work on your side, or something.
