Sorry I forgot to add that you must also browse through the pictures on the site a bit as there are some very cool and unusual retics.

Cool pics. Its a pity most of them are harshly edited with higher colour saturation and contrast.

I dont think that mutation is genetic. I have not seen them available yet which is often the case with non genetic mutations.

The colour it definatly locality determined from what Ive been able to find out. The pattern on this animal is not though,so if she is a wild caught female it could be a new morph that has not been brought into the US or UK market yet. Out of all the localities and sub species(confirmed and unconfirmed) most of the market seems to be based on size. Wether its for huge snakes or dwarfs. I dont think much effort has gone into phenotypical characteristics like colour unless its a morph. There are exceptions like the yellow heads but Im assuming that they are easier to get a hold of than some other island localities. It makes me wonder how diverse retics are and not to mension the genetic mutations (morphs) that could be found in these less common or less popular retic localities. There is still a lot of surprizes waiting for us out there.

Look out next month there is an article on retics in the Ultimate exotics magazine.
