Angolans.... grow up so quick

Postby Mongoose » Wed Apr 18, 2007 2:37 pm

They should be about a year and a half now..(Think they were wild caught) Will try and breed them at about 2 and a half years..

How is this about talking too soon my male bit me this morning, but I am hoping it is because he is going into breeding mode. Lol served me right wanting to touch his girl.

Gary you should not fiddle with his girl then!

Lets see these pics too. Are they German, US or Swiss bloodlines?

Slangman we had forgotten about those pictures. There is nothing that says you cannot post more pics of them especially in their new cages. Hint hint.

I suspect that yours are not very inbred. They look to have some Houston and "recently acquired" genetics in them. I hope they breed well for you.

Will you PM me the name of the breeder and I could possibly help with their lineage.

Hi guys, are there any updates on the Angolan python? I'm seriously looking for an unrelated pair.

There were some for sale at hamm this month . They are available but will cost you . I spent a long time searching for the right
Animals as I was warned about problems with certain bloodlines ie. Regurgitation issues , and after 2 yrs , i got the pair I have now
And I am very pleased with them . I have seen loads for sale in the states at a fraction of the price I paid but I still prefer to deal with a breeder
I know and trust. I think its a case of you get what you pay for and there are a lot of whispers about the various bloodlines being bred .
As for imports , I haven't a clue how that would operate for angolans as it will be a bridge I will look to cross should I actually breed mine .
I look at mine purely as a challenge to breed and as for a fun snake , I know of no others with a charactor quite like angolans . If you were looking
For a money investment then I would look for something a lot easier to breed rather than these chaps .

Regards

Hey guys,

Those snakes look killer by the way, very cool.

Haven't seen one close up, but think I might have to ... soon...

Sorry if I'm hijacking a bit, or bringing up a tender subject, but has anyone tried to cross breed Angolans to Royals ?

I'm not a real fan of splicing, just thought it might be a cool project, seeing they are so similar in size and general " build "...

The pattern possibilities are also a thing to consider...

They have been hybridized many times and the result is called "Angry Balls".

That's just to give you an idea to the offsprings' dispositions.

I'm not an opposer of hybrids, but this is a real waste.

Each to their own.
