Oh, Ok. Why I ask is because I was born in Empangeni and spent the first 25 years of my life there.

I have been living here for 11 years and I still don't like it here. Guess one must be an "Empangenian" to love this place. We have had some terrible weather , was extremely hot.
Are you aware of the fact that EHS will be having a reunion this year?

What you have there are both red lipped herald snakes, Crotaphopeltis hotamboeia

These are a rear fanged snake which it uses it's venom to subdue small frogs and small geckos which it feeds on. One of the most common snake species found in and around houses in South Africa
