Nice mission dude. Some nice snake finds! Nice duskies as well.

I must say one of my favourites must be the shrew, just love those things.

Great photos guys.

that would have been around 1982 or 83

I used to herp the hills in that area every weekend for years as a kid, good to see the old vusimanzi is still in residence ;-)

Yeah they are still plentiful there.

Out of interest what snakes were you guys finding there often?

I wonder how things have changed

we used to get the usual suspects (depending on where exactly we looked):

skaapsteekers (millions)
cross marked snakes (mainly the striped one with a yellow belly, but also the brown form with an orange belly)
Dusky Belly Water Snakes
Brown Water Snakes
Red Lips
Puff Adders (plenty)
Night Adders
Rinkhals (need to know where to look)
Yellow Bellied House Snake (found 2 in 3 years of looking)
Olive House Snakes (completely black ones & the usual)
Aurora House Snakes
Egg Eaters (pretty rare)
Natal Green Snakes (pretty rare also)
I spent most of my money on fishing, booze, and women. The rest I just wasted.
