Yip just lets get the final word from government regarding this. Nobody knows where to get permits so we cannot comply within 60 days. No magistrate in SA will find you guilty and no prosecutor is going to try these cases.

I would simply keep breeding my corns and state that they are retaining sperm from previous pairings. They probably wouldn't know any better and I doubt they would be able to prove otherwise.

Just as promised things would work out. Corn snakes will be removed from the list for now. I am just awaiting official notification but I was phoned tonite and told to tell everyone to relax as far as corn snakes are concerned. The line was bad but it sounds like Boa constrictors are also coming off the list for Gauteng. Once I get the official changes i will notify you all.

This act is now law from yesterday. Application forms can be downloaded from invasives.org.za

Just remember that corn snakes are in the process of being removed completely. Green iguanas and boa constrictors will also not require permits in Gauteng.

Dont stress it will take many months before they will prosecute. This gives you enough time to apply for the permits.

@ Kakibos - The last time I've checked the invasive species list, west African gaboons was listed under category 2 for Gauteng, limpopo, eastern cape, mpumalanga, meaning that we will need permits for them in gauteng
