Mine is about 1m+ now but I hear they can go to 2m ?I have seen bigger ones than mine but not such a big one...Has anyone here ?

Those are really stunning snakes. Must make a super nice display animal.

So you should NOT be doing this then.

Very stupid of him because I would imagine a bite in your throat would be really serious.

Hey Louis, i dont know you had a Vine there..what a beauty and nice shot to..to bad im not good in photograpy.
ive been seen that pict so often..yes it is a Dendrelaphis sp.
Would their venom be similar in level of toxicity to say Psammophis sp. her in SA or more toxic i.e is it just painful with swelling or bleeding, or do you need to go to hospital?

i dont know about Psammophis sp bite effect was, me or even every hobbies in Indonesia been bite several time with Vines..for me or them it is absolutely fine..no bleeding, bit itchy and just light swelling as if you been bite with a mosquito..if i can compare that a centipede bite is more painfull or with a bee sting than this species.
Here in Indonesia a Vine snake will be classified at low level so you dont need to go to hospital at all.
but then again i will respect of all species..i will post my Vines ;)

Absolutely incredible snakes, before this post I did not even know they where in SA. If anyone knows of any pairs or even a single animal available, please let me know.
Thanks for the great shots.

Ive been bitten by an Ahaetulla prasina on the index finger. I saw the fangs are in my finger. And take the snake off.
Just a little bit bleeding, nothing else.

And please dont feed them Mice it was way to fatty for them so their dont get this old as they get when you only feed with geckos.
Thats the reason why i gave mine away coz here in germany geckos are so expensive and i dont have the time to breed them.
So i gave him to a friend of mine that has Hundreds of geckos.
