Ooh I like that last one. These were pretty common in South Africa many years ago and then they died out because almost nobody bothered to breed them. I dont know if there are any left here. The bite is apparently not to be recommended.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

I'd love to have your list of venomous snakes with a bite to be recommended, if you have a minute....

Hello Guys

Many thanks for your nice comments here
They are absolutely stunning snakes, and especially the last female is unbelievable.....absolutely amazing. Probably easely the most beautiful snake in my collection and I have a NICE collection of snake...

Absolutely, scutulatus salvini is definitely not something you want to mess with. They are agressiv, medium sized rattler and usually do not bite only once. They often attack 3-4 times in just a second.......unbelieveably fast. The venom also seems to be on of the strongest of any Crotalus species, so this makes it definitely to a very dangerous snake. Nothing for beginners :smt018

Yes, about 10 years ago they where easey to get and prices where ok. But in the past 6-7 years everything has changed. At the moment it is almost impossible to get those. In Europe there's only one breeder (in germany) and he has a looong waiting list for them.
So I will do my best to breed with my speciemens, let's hope for some succes in 2011 - who knows ?!? ;)
